African Kente Weaving
1st Grade students worked extremely hard on these mixed media masterpieces. We studied the beautiful Kente line pattern art from Ghana, Africa for the last few weeks. Students painted the circle color pattern in the background and learned to weave for the 2nd portion. They topped the whole design off with their own symbol and shape patterns. Phew, it was a long process!
Leonardo Da Vinci-Flying Machines
5th grade students researched the ultimate "STEAM" King, Leonardo Da Vinci. Students then created their very own flying machines using their knowledge of energy to connect their learning through other disciplines. The cabin was assembled origami style to make a 3-D prism or cube.
